60 Laptops for Schools Scheme11th Apr 2008

As part of the Laptops for Schools scheme we have now received 60 Dell laptops and they will be used by the English, Science and the Environment and Society Faculties. This means that more students in the junior school will be able to access the C2k network without going to a computer suite. Each Faculty will have 20 laptops each on a trolley for ease of movement from room to room. The laptops will be wirelessly connected allowing students to access their work and to use the Internet.

The Environment and Society Faculty has also had an install of 20 new desktop C2k computers which will mean they have a fixed and mobile system thus providing staff with an IT facility to implement future work within each of their subject areas.
