Introduction
We aim to provide all students with the best possible skills necessary to attain creative and aesthetic excellence through a range of different disciplines, specialising in Painting, Printmaking and Ceramics.
We aim to promote critical thinking and develop a visual awareness which encourages students to fulfil their creative potential. This will assist in life long learning and progression to a successful career.

Digital Art Suite

In November, big changes took place in the Art Department as reconstruction began, turning our dark room into a state of the art, Digital Arts Suite, as sad as it was to say goodbye to the dark room it was exciting to gain such highly sought after equipment and software. We were provided with 11 iMac computers to be used for the development of digital arts though the Department. Year 8 students completed a six week pilot program of study in the digital art suite and got the opportunity to explore the new software available. They completed comics using Photo Booth and Comic Life and were able to experiment with both digital photography and Animation. Year 10 students were able to develop their portraiture project through the use of Photoshop. The introduction of this suite has also opened up new and exciting opportunities for GCSE and A’ Level students, which we aim to develop further in the coming months/years.
