StaffFrances Shannon HOD Karen Belton (Careers) Aim: To provide a framework for the development,assessment and accreditation of skills achieved through enrichment activities. This type of independent learning,with tutor support, will prepare students for College and University studies.The benefits of the course include 70 UCAS points,development of Wider Key Skills,confidence building and taking part in challenges. What do we do? Active citizenship- voluntary service of 12-14 hours. Career planning - research for future career options. Oral Presentation- based on topics researched. Learning a new skill- for example sign language,learning to drive or introduction to film making.

Personal effectiveness is something that can make a difference between getting into University / getting a job and being rejected. This course will help you to inprove your skills to prepare you for further education or your working life.It is a practical course involving voluntary service, practical research,group discussion / tutorials and giving presentations. |

CoPE Level 3 is an AS course worth 70 UCAS points. It will help you get into further education at a higher level and concentrat on developing your Wider Key Skills. you will find that because it is such a practical course it can reduce your stree levels coming up to exams as it is all coursework that will be finished before you go on study leave in Year 13. |

It will help you improve your UCAS points for getting into University. As it is a course that puts much weight on independent learning you will go into further education more able to cope with having to plan, problem solve, organise and research on your own. It is a course that promotes self confidence through all of its work especially in the idea of ' giving something back to the community' through the voluntary service. |
