Enrichment Week Success

In the dying days of October we staged Enrichment Week- a diverse programme of outdoor activities, sports and foreign trips. Learning is never restricted to the classroom in Hazelwood!

Art students visited Madrid and appraised the works of Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali while Language students exercised their French on the autumn boulevards of Paris.

Meanwhile, back in Northern Ireland, Year 8 Hazelwood students canoed on Lough Erne, practised their archery and finished off a superb residential with a Halloween disco. Year 9 students raised money for cancer sufferers on a sponsored trek along the River Lagan. Year 10 and Year 11 students got stuck into a range of sports and outdoor activities.

Year 11 students scaled vertical heights under the watchful eyes of qualified mountaineers. Some made the daring Leap of Faith after scaling a 30 foot pole and jumping through the sky to grip a slippery trapeze.

Enrichment Week got them out there and was a great success.
