Hazelwood encourages parents to take an active interest in all aspects of College Life.The College is committed to responding to parents’ concerns.

If the parents’ concerns are not answered, they are invited to write to the appropriate committee of the Board of Governors  who will respond to the parents and, where appropriate, meet with thm.

Working in Partnership you can help us by:
Putting yourself forward for election to the Board of Governors
Being involved in the Parents Council
Offering an after-school club
Helping with costumes/scenery for school productions.
Talking to prospective parents
Assisting in the organisation of school events

 Interview

 

Have an in-depth interview with your son/daughter’s Class Tutor once each academic year to review progress during the year.

Invited to 

 

Our opening assembly when we join together to pray for success in the oncoming year.
Our annual Christmas Carol Service when parents, students and staff join together to celebrate the feast of Christmas.
Our annual Peace Assembly. Held on the first Friday of March each year. At it, students and staff are joined by parents and members of the local community to celebrate the work we are all involved in, in bringing peace to our wider community.

Make an appointment to visit the College at any time.

Discuss your child’s progress with his/her subject teachers at Parents’ Nights. These are organised on a Year Basis to ensure that all parents have an opportunity to speak to teachers.

Workshops

 

Each year a number of workshops are held for parents. These include programmes on Drugs Education, ‘Cook-It’, Child Protection, Cyber Bullying and sign language.
