Females of the Future is an event that PwC is launching this year that is designed to inspire and support girls to navigate potential career opportunities with them, particularly in Technology.
The day-long event (10am-3pm) is open to Year 12 and Year 13 students (fifth year and lower sixth). Held at PwC Belfast it will consist of a series of fun activities with guest speakers, a healthy and tasty lunch, and the opportunity to ask lots of questions in a relaxed environment, allowing students to learn more about what it’s like working at PwC.
The students will be inspired by one of PwC leaders, who will help them to develop confidence and resilience, and understand their skills and values and how they could relate to their future career. Finally, PwC will share with the students our focus on diversity and why it matters.
Why PwC are doing it?
Currently professional services – particularly Accounting and Technology – is not a popular career choice for girls at school. PwC want to break down the myths and barriers and showcase the fantastic opportunities that are available.
Designed in partnership with Queen’s University, this four-year course combines paid work experience with PwC Tech teams while studying towards a fully funded degree. At the event students will hear from a range of female leaders about opportunities within the Tech industry and those who are inspired to apply to the Technology Degree will receive full support from PwC throughout the recruitment process.
Both students and teachers alike are welcome on the day.
